90 Teachers of the Year

The 90 MCPSS Teachers of the Year were honored on March 13 at a luncheon in downtown Mobile with Superintendent Chresal D. Threadgill, the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners, and their principals.

The teachers received gift cards courtesy of Mobile Coca-Cola, which sponsored the luncheon. They also received gift bags from the school district.

The three Countywide Teachers of the Year, Dr. Chelsea Tanous of Davidson High, Daniela Yunker of Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies, and Jennifer Asbury of Council Traditional Elementary School, received special recognition during the luncheon.

The luncheon began with a welcome from MCPSS Superintendent Chresal D. Threadgill. WKRG News Anchor Cherish Lombard served as emcee. Members of the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners presented each teacher from their district with a plaque, and Board President Sherry Dillihay-McDade thanked the teachers for their hard work and dedication to MCPSS students.

The Baker High School Jazz Band performed, the Theodore JROTC Cadets escorted the teachers on stage, and the MGM Horticulture students created centerpieces for the tables.
