Mobile County Public Schools will hold its annual Career Fair to recruit teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers and other personnel on March 17 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center.
Job applicants will be able to meet our principals and hold on-site interviews, learn about system benefits and signing bonuses, and start the hiring process.
Mobile County Public Schools is offering signing bonuses for new employees. In addition, MCPSS is proud to offer teacher salaries that exceed both state and national averages, with additional bonuses for educators who earn master's degrees or National Board Certification.
As a public school system, MCPSS also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in the Retirement Systems of Alabama and health insurance through PEEHIP (Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama).
The school system is hiring at all positions during the Career Fair, said Monica Motley, Director of Guidance and Counseling and Coordinator of Transformational Improvement. "Every position is important to our central mission of preparing our students for college and career," she said. "We value our support personnel as well as our teaching positions and our certified positions."
At the Career Fair, the school system’s Human Resources personnel will have a streamlined hiring process on site, including background checks and drug tests, which also means that job candidates will not have to pay the fees typically associated with these tests.
“We have made it an easy process for our job candidates to take care of everything they need for the application process,” Dr. Motley said.
